Welcome to Platypus!

Here’s what you need to know about me: I am a storyteller and playwright from Washington, DC, and have performed regularly on the SpeakeasyDC, Story League, and Better Said Than Done stages. I am also an occasional freelance arts critic and essayist.

I started this blog to develop themes for use onstage, but visitors will also find entries on random stuff I’m thinking about as well as ephemera from my day-to-day. My hope is that the mismatched parts – essay fragments, pop-philosophical musings, cultural criticism, and asides – will miraculously result in a well-balanced whole.  Kind of how a platypus makes sense en total despite its bizarre, “non-complementary” features. Only time will tell…
